Lucian Mattison is a US-Argentinian poet and translator. He is the author of three books of poetry, Curare (C&R Press, 2022), awarded a Silver Medal for the 2023 international Latino Book Awards, Juan Felipe Herrera Best Poetry Book Award; Reaper's Milonga (YesYes Books, 2018); and Peregrine Nation (Dynamo Verlag, 2017), winner of the 2014 Dogfish Head Poetry Prize.

His poetry won the Puerto Del Sol Poetry Prize and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize by the Cincinnati Review. His poetry, short fiction, and translations appear in numerous journals including The Adroit Journal, CutBank, Hayden's Ferry Review, Nano Fiction, The Nashville Review, The Offing, The South Carolina Review, and have been featured on poets.org. He is an associate editor of poetry for Barrelhouse.

Lucian earned his MFA from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and his BA from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He currently lives in Oakland, California.
